
Andy Mantel 安迪馒头
Andy Mantel is the Founder and CEO of Ten Events Ventures LLC, a family office-style firm based in the San Francisco Bay Area and Hong Kong, focusing on early and mid-stage ventures in sports, lifestyle, health & wellness, entertainment, technology, and consumer sectors globally. The firm is also a platform for investors seeking venture deal flow and investment capital globally.
With approximately 35 years of investments experience in Asian/Chinese public and private companies, Mr. Mantel has managed assets for global investors including entities on behalf of the Chinese government, the Shanghai Municipal government, the Taiwan government, and the Singapore government. Previously, he founded Pacific Sun Advisors, an investment advisor specializing in alternative investments in Asia, particularly China. The firm, based in Hong Kong with affiliate offices in Shenzhen and Nanjing, served institutions, family offices, and high-net-worth clients, and held a QFLP license, enabling foreign investment in RMB-denominated opportunities. Mr. Mantel sold his remaining shares in the company in June 2024.

Andy began his career at Lehman Brothers in San Francisco, moved to Asia in 1990, and worked in Taiwan for leading securities and fund management firms. He co-founded Shanghai International Asset Management, China’s first joint venture fund management company, partnering with Taiwan's largest business group and the Shanghai government. He represented the venture in both Hong Kong and Shanghai.
Mr. Mantel is an alumni of the Stanford Graduate School of Business and has an M.A. in International Relations from Hong Kong Polytechnic, and a B.A. in Economics from the University of California-Davis. His master’s thesis was on China’s Financial System and Capital Markets.
An active sports enthusiast, Andy serves on the Board of Directors for the USA Track & Field Foundation, was an all-conference decathlete at UC Davis, and played professional basketball in Hong Kong. He has completed marathons in New York, Amsterdam, Beijing, Melbourne, and Cape Town, and twice completed the 100km Hong Kong MacLehose Trailwalker. He also excelled in flag football and dice baseball during his youth in the San Francisco Bay Area.
